By June 3, 2020

June 1, 2020 (Chicago) — Fast Radius, a leading manufacturing technology company, has become the first Chicago-based member of the HP Digital Manufacturing Network.

Membership recognizes Fast Radius’ ability to produce high-quality plastic parts at scale. Customers can now work directly with Fast Radius to quickly scale up part production using HP’s industrial-grade Jet Fusion systems at its factories in Chicago and Louisville, Ky.

“We established the HP Digital Manufacturing Network to help customers speed time to market and produce 3D printed parts at scale with complete confidence in quality while offering breakthrough economics,” said Jon Wayne, head of global commercial business, HP 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing. “Fast Radius meets the rigorous demands and expectations of this global network. The extraordinary efforts by Fast Radius and many other HP partners to help battle the COVID-19 crisis have demonstrated the benefits of 3D printing and distributed manufacturing. Fast Radius has proven their ability to meet the unique needs of customers and to scale production quickly and easily using its HP Jet Fusion solutions.”

Fast Radius offers advanced capabilities and two innovative materials – PA 12 and PA 12 Glass Beads – for production of Jet Fusion-printed final parts featuring industry-leading product stiffness and integrity. Fast Radius also owns one of HP’s cutting-edge Jet Fusion 580 Color 3D printers.

Fast Radius delivers everything from quick-turn prototypes to repeatable, production-grade parts in low- to mid-volume quantities using HP’s technology. Examples include a robot arm to move materials inside a warehouse of Toyota subsidiary, Bastian Solutions. (Read the case study here.)

“Since we began using HP machines in 2018, we have built an industrial-grade quality management system, which enables us to produce parts for our customers across medical devices, aerospace, consumer and industrial applications,” said Pat McCusker, Fast Radius’ chief operations officer. “We look forward to working with new customers introduced to us through the HP Digital Manufacturing Network who are embracing industrial-grade additive manufacturing.”
